Town & Country Credit Union proudly announces the winners of the 2025 Employee Recognition Awards. This year, five outstanding employees were recognized for their dedication, leadership, and positive impact. Each award recipient received $150 in cash along with $150 to donate to a charity of their choice, further extending the credit union’s commitment to giving back to the communities it serves.

The Above & Beyond Service Award, which honors a member-facing employee who consistently delivers exceptional service, was awarded to Teona Boechler, Member Services Manager - West. Teona was recognized for her unwavering dedication to members, her collaborative and proactive mindset, and her empathetic leadership style. Teona chose to donate her charitable contribution to Hairball Haven.

The Leadership at Any Level Award, which celebrates a non-manager who demonstrates leadership through initiative and expertise, was presented to Sidney Widdel, Financial Services Officer I. Sidney was praised for her calm confidence and her lead-by-example approach, which inspires those around her to grow and contributes to a culture of excellence. Sidney selected the Minot Area Homeless Coalition as her charity of choice.

The Rookie of the Year Award was presented to Lana Thompson, Operations Specialist I, recognizing an employee with less than two years at the credit union who has already made a significant impact. Lana proactively sought out opportunities to grow from the start - learning valuable technical skills and using those skills to play a significant role in a key conversion project within the credit union. Lana chose to donate to the Lord’s Cupboard Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen.

The Heart of the Credit Union Award, which honors exceptional employees whose behind-the-scenes work keeps the organization moving, was awarded to two recipients this year. Marcus Myers, System Administrator, was recognized for his steady, thoughtful approach, strong problem-solving skills, and dependable work ethic. Marcus donated his contribution to the Great Plains Food Bank.

The second Heart of the Credit Union Award recipient was Skyler Schumacker, Financial Services Officer I. Skyler was recognized for his responsiveness, deep knowledge, and consistent focus on finding the best solutions to meet members’ needs. Despite managing multiple responsibilities, he remains dependable, professional, and positive, embodying the credit union philosophy of “people helping people.” A donation was made on Skyler’s behalf to the March of Dimes - Fargo Chapter.

In addition, the Selection Committee introduced a new honor this year to recognize excellence within the Town & Country Insurance Agency. The inaugural TCIA Excellence Award was awarded to Denise Krebsbach, Insurance Coordinator, for her leadership and dedication during a year of significant transition. Denise stepped up to take on additional responsibilities, support new clients, and train new staff while continuing to manage daily operations. Her charitable donation was made to the Ronald McDonald House of Bismarck.

"We're proud to recognize these team members as exceptional examples of what it looks like to live out our credit union mission of positively impacting our members, employees and communities," said Kalli Schell, President/CEO. "It is only fitting to celebrate by giving back to local non-profits on their behalf."
