We’re excited to shine a Town & Country Business Spotlight on Empty Nest Blooms, a locally grown flower farm and gathering space created by Patty Munro. What started as a small creative outlet has quickly blossomed into a beloved destination where community members can slow down, gather and enjoy something truly beautiful.

Patty started Empty Nest Blooms in 2023 while working full-time as a medical coder. With two grown sons who had recently left home, she was looking for a creative passion to pour her energy into. She began with just a few thousand zinnias and snapdragons and a simple folding table, inviting people to cut their own flowers. The response from the community was immediate. By the second year, Patty and her husband built a flower shop, and today the field and shop are buzzing with visitors from July through the first frost.

When asked why they chose Town & Country Credit Union, Patty shared that the decision came naturally. Her husband has worked with David Struck, VP Agricultural Lending, for several years through his agricultural business, and the experience has always been positive. The strong relationships, support and understanding of ag-based businesses made Town & Country an easy fit for Empty Nest Blooms.

What makes Empty Nest Blooms so special is the experience it creates. One of Patty’s favorite responses after the first season was, Thank you for building something our community didn’t even know it needed.”  More than just flowers, the farm offers a place to gather, slow down and connect with nature and each other.

The best way the community can support Empty Nest Blooms is by choosing local flowers. About 90% of the flowers are grown from seed, started right in the flower shop during the winter months. Visitors can find unique varieties that aren’t available at traditional floral shops, flowers grown right here in the community, not shipped from miles away.

Exciting things are always blooming at Empty Nest Blooms. Flower subscriptions are a big focus right now, helping support the farm during the winter planning and investing season. Subscribers receive four or more deliveries of the very best blooms of the season, delivered to multiple locations during the summer. In addition to you-pick flowers and subscriptions, Empty Nest Blooms also offers wedding florals, on-farm workshops, a vintage flower trailer for weddings and business events, and a flower shop space that hosts bridal parties, baby showers, church gatherings and business team-bonding events. If a business has five or more employees who order subscriptions, then delivery is right to the office!

We’re proud to have Patty and Empty Nest Blooms as part of the Town & Country community and love seeing how her passion continues to grow and bring people together. If you haven’t experienced the farm yet, stop by during flower season to see it for yourself and visit her Facebook Page to keep up with the beauty she is creating.
