Town & Country Credit Union is a member-owned financial cooperative founded in 1939 to provide a source of credit at reasonable interest rates and encourage savings from its members by paying competitive dividends.
Credit Unions are different from banks since they are democratically controlled by their members, not stockholders.
Credit Unions are owned by their membership and have a business philosophy of being not for profit, not for charity, but for service, while the general business purpose of a bank is to maximize profits for shareholders. Profits generated within the credit union are retained within the organization and are returned to the members in the form of better products and services, competitive interest rates and through philanthropic giving within the communities they serve. By law, membership in Town & Country Credit Union is limited to our chartered field of membership.
