Town & Country Credit Union was recognized with two 2021 state level awards at the Dakota Credit Union Association's annual Summit awards banquet held in May in Rapid City, South Dakota.
The credit union earned a first place Desjardins Adult Financial Education Award in recognition of the credit union's efforts to teach personal finance concepts and skills to members and the community as a whole. The credit union provided financial education content in the media, as well as one-on-one financial counseling services.
Town & Country also received a second place Louise Herring Philosophy-in-Action Member Service Award for practical application of the credit union philosophy of "people helping people" within the actual operation of the credit union through a program or service that benefited the credit union's membership. When conducting a system upgrade that would benefit the credit union long-term, Town & Country did not lose sight of the immediate impacts their members would face, made authentic efforts to minimize those impacts, and showed genuine appreciation to their members throughout the process.
