Sanford Health Fargo proudly celebrated the grand opening of the Credit Unions for Kids Micropreemie Unit at Sanford Hospital. This momentous occasion marks a significant milestone in providing vital care for our community's most vulnerable newborns. Town & Country Credit Union pledged $50,000 to this initiative as part of our commitment to positively impacting our community. "We are proud to contribute to this incredible project and to be part of a cause that impacts so many lives," said Kalli Schell, Town & Country Credit Union President/CEO. "Our support goes beyond just financial contributions; we believe in building a stronger community where every child gets the chance they deserve."
Members of our team attended the ribbon cutting and grand opening, learning more from nurses, doctors and families of children who had previously been in the micropreemie program about how this unit will serve as a beacon of hope for so many. This unit was made possible thanks to the generosity of twenty North Dakota credit unions, who pledged a cumulative $500,000.

The state-of-the-art Children's Unit features four specialized rooms and six beds for infants born before 26 weeks' gestation weighing less than 28 ounces. Here, the miracle of life meets cutting-edge medical expertise in a nurturing environment designed for healing and connection. Families with micropreemie babies can find support and solace by sharing their experiences with others undergoing similar journeys.
With the launch of the Credit Unions for Kids Micropreemie Unit, Sanford Children's Hospital is redefining the standard of care. It ensures that every precious life has a fighting chance, surrounded by support and the expertise it needs to thrive. Thank you to everyone involved in making this dream a reality!
