January 7, 1939 – An organizing meeting was help in the Patron’s Room of the Farmers Union Cooperative to discuss the organization of Ward County Cooperative Credit Union. Fred Groniger was the chief Promoter and was elected temporary chairman of the meeting. Irene (Staflin) Anderson was elected temporary Secretary. The credit union office was located in the old Farmers Union Oil Company Building. Charter Members/Original Incorporators included E.P. Christianson, Arnold Hauge, Lawrence Erickson, Otto Olson, Nick Huizenga, Herman Pietsch, Lawrence Joyce and Isabelle Sigloh.
May 18, 1939 – The first board meeting was held. At this meeting, maximum unsecured loan limit was set at $25 and maximum secured loans at $100.
December 31, 1939 – At year end, the credit union had $360 in shares, $60 in loans, $10 in reserves and $2 in interest income.
1941 – Became an agent for G.T.A. making grain loans. Offered on-the-spot check cashing which increased deposits and allowed the credit union to grow faster.
1966 – Constructed and moved to a new location at 405 Central Avenue East in Minot.
1972 – Name changed to Town & Country Credit Union.
1975 – Share Drafts (Checking Accounts) were instituted.
1977 – Built new location at 1225 South Broadway in Minot.
1989 – Kenmare Community Credit Union merged into Town & Country Credit Union.
1990 – Purchased first in-house computer.
1993 – Fargo-Moorhead Community Credit Union merged with Town & Country Credit Union. An office was established in the MeritCare Medical Center in Fargo at 801 North Broadway and at 815 25th Street in Fargo.
1995 – Purchased and remodeled the Metropolitan Federal Building at 615 South Broadway in Minot.
2003 – Added a location in West Fargo at 925 14th Avenue East.
2005 – Added a new location in Fargo at 1501 32nd Avenue East. Minot Trades Credit Union merged into Town & Country Credit Union.
2006 – Added a location in Minot at 3630 South Broadway, Suite B.
2008 – Ryder Cooperative Credit Union merged into Town & Country Credit Union.
2009 – Fargo Forum Credit Union merged into Town & Country Credit Union.
2011 – NSP Credit Union merged into Town & Country Credit Union.
2012 – Added a location in Stanley at 1101 4th Street South East, Suite 101.
2013 – Construction started on a new Fargo location on 52nd Avenue South.
2014 – Fargo location on 52nd Avenue South opened.
2018 – Added a location in West Fargo at 3342 Sheyenne Street in the Eagle Run Development.
